Volcanoes

Chapter 1: Introduction
There are five main parts of a volcano. They are Crater, lava, magma, magma chamber, and ash/steam. Lava is after magma is outside a volcano. Magma is when lava is inside the volcano. The magma chamber is inside the volcano. When there is a lot of pressure it blows!  Ash/steam starts to come out of a volcano. Not only ash/steam but also pumice chunks.

Chapter 2: Subduction

Subduction is when two tectonic plates collide into each other. That is not all, but one tectonic plate goes under the other tectonic plate. Then from the crack left magma fills the hole and hardens. The magma turns into a mountain. The whole thing does not become rock. The place where the magma is flowing is called the magma chamber. Thus a magma chamber is made. As for everything the pressure builds up and the magma tries to find the weakest link in the volcano. When it finds it....... KABOOM!

Chapter 3: Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii

The small city of Pompeii lie directly under the dormant volcano of Vesuvius. Or not so dormant. In AD 79, Vesuvius led to the destructions of the Roman cities Pompeii and Herculaneum. The poor people of Pompeii and Herculaneum couldn't escape from the deadly ash and pumice in time , and therefore were burried in that steam and gas. Only a few lucky people from those cities did escape, but more people had gone down. Vesuvius has erupted many times after this big attack, and continues to do so, leading itself to becoming the most dangerous volcano today. It was nearly 1700 years later, when Pompeii and Herculaneum were accedentally rediscovered, but by then, with a lot of effort, the secrets of Pompeii were redicovered.
